Made from Steamed Ash, the wood is briefly heated to a very high temperature to ensure it attains a high water-resistance. This process also accentuates the woods beautiful grain and gives the Ash is deep final coloring. The wood is then treated with oil, to further guarantee the product's longevity.

The Material - Olive wood

Since ancient times, olive wood has been valued for its outstanding material characteristics and warm coloring. It is to be found throughout the Mediterranean region and has been used for centuries to make durable goods or artistic objects.

The wood we use must be dried carefully for months before the handles are turned. We then sand the surfaces, seal them with oil and polish them to a silky finish. This brings out the gentle, honey-colored grain of the wood particularly well.

Without chrome the world would forfeit a lot of its lustre. In the finish used for our wet shaving accessories it demonstrates its best qualities: The material is corrosion-resistant, very long-lasting and has a luxurious, alluring lustre. The Material - Bog oak

This rare material is not a wood species in its own right, but comes from wood that sank into bogs many centuries ago and has undergone various processes of change in the meantime. This preserves the wood naturally and lastingly. An expressive, dark color develops due to the tannins in the bog.

The scarcity of these tree trunks today makes this material a genuine rarity. The coloring of the wood varies between brown, dark brown and black-brown. To begin with, square timbers are sawn from the few usable trunk sections and then turned out as handles. Several polishes with fine oils provide an additional seal for the surfaces and give them a silky-matt finish.

One of the most distinctive and rare materials, Karelian Masur Birch is grown in a small area of Karelia during mid-winter season. Harvested only when the ground is frozen, the harsh climatic conditions result in the low growth height of the Masur Birch which, in turn, produces the wood's characteristically rich grain.

Once picked, the square timbers are then shaped by turning. Only the finest quality Masur Birch is then further processed and stabilized during a special procedure. This procedure ensures the wood becomes hard-wearing and water resistant.

The use of natural material ensures that each product is unique, the handle's graining adding individual character to each brush, razor and set.
