The Aloe Vera Plant

A familiar cactus-like plant, Aloe Vera has been used for cosmetic and medicinal purposes for thousands of years. Reaching maturity at 3-4 years, the Aloe Vera plant can grow up to 30inches tall with large and plentiful leaves that are filled with a clear, gel-like substance rich in vitamins, minerals and essential amino acids. Used to treat a variety of skin conditions, the extract is wonderful for sensitive skin and is highly moisturising.

Superpower #1: Anti-ageing

Stimulating collagen production, Aloe Vera helps to tackle the visible effects of ageing by improving skin elasticity. Decreasing fine lines and wrinkles, the extract helps to tighten the skin giving a smoother, more youthful appearance. In addition to being super moisturising, the gel also contains a whopping 18 different amino acids and both vitamins C and E to help protect the skin from free radicals. Essential to pre-shave routines, well-moisturised skin is key for a close, relaxing shave. Hydrating and creamy, the MÜHLE Aloe Vera shaving cream works to soften the skin making dry, irritating shaves a thing of the past.

Superpower #2: Healing

Most famous for its treatment of burns, Aloe Vera can also reduce the time of healing for a number of other injuries including small nicks and cuts. Razor burn and small cuts can happen to the best of us whilst shaving even when we are careful but good pre and post shave care are a great way to prevent this (as well as a good shaving brush and razor of course) . Helping to increase skin cell reproduction by as much as eight times, Aloe Vera makes a wonderful addition to any after-shave treatment. Our nourishing Aloe Vera Aftershave Balm works to penetrate the epidermis and help relieve irritation and dryness, repairing the skin and soothing it in the process.

Superpower #3: Antimicrobial

A gentle cleanser, Aloe Vera is also an antiseptic, again making it ideal in the treatment of minor cuts. Protecting against bacteria, the mild antimicrobial can also help in the treatment of acne! Reducing inflammation and redness, the extract is featured in the MÜHLE Aftershave Lotion collection. Promoting new cell growth, the Aloe Vera Aftershave Lotion also acts as an astringent to help reduce the size of pores and remove excess sebum (an oily natural substance produced by your skin) - guaranteed to leave you feeling fresh-faced.
